Simon Parcot

Simon Parcot is a writer and ‘trail philosopher’. After a childhood marked by extensive travel and studies in literature and philosophy, he settled in the Alpine valley of the Vénéon, where he leads philosophical walks and is involved in various cultural and community projects. The mountains inspire him: he has written Le Bord du monde est vertical (Le mot et le reste, 2022; Le Livre de Poche, 2024), winner of the 2023 L’Express – Écrire la Nature Prize, the 2023 Récit de l’Ailleurs Prize and the 2023 Alpes-Isère Prize; Carnet de Guides (Glénat, 2023) and Le Chant des pentes (Le mot et le reste, 2024; Le Livre de Poche, 2026), winner of the SGDL Spring Revelation Prize 2025. Noé, due to be published by L’Iconoclaste in February 2027, is his first autobiographical work.
