Stéphane Chaumet was born in Dunkirk. A writer and translator, he has published three novels with Le Seuil as well as several stories and poetry texts. He has also translated many contemporary Latin American and Spanish poets, as well as the German poet Hilde Domin and the Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad. He has lived in Europe (Germany, Belgium, Spain), Latin America (Mexico, Argentina, El Salvador, Colombia), Asia (China, Singapore), the Middle East (Syria) and the United States. He currently lives in Bogotá.
